Appendix A

Troubleshooting

This appendix is intended to help you troubleshoot problems you
may encounter while using the Netopia ISDN Router. It also includes
information on how to contact Farallon Technical Suppor t.

Impor tant information on these problems may be found in the event
histories kept by the Netopia ISDN Router. These event histories
can be accessed in the Statistics, Utilities, Tests screen.

Console connection problems

Can’t see the configuration screens (nothing appears)

■

Check the cable connection from the Netopia ISDN Router’s
console por t to the computer being used as a console.

■

Check that the terminal emulation software is accessing the
correct por t on the computer that’s being used as a console.

■

Tr y pressing Ctrl-L or Return several times to refresh the
terminal screen.

Junk characters appear on the screen

■

Check that the terminal emulation software is configured
correctly.
