ADJUSTING THE TILT SWITCH
• Setting the tilt switch to the largest tick mark
works best for most applications.
• To adjust the tilt switch, loosen the two bolts
that secure the switch to the indicator plate:
• Tilt the switch
up for less
lagging
• Tilt it
down for more
lagging (See Warning):
• Once the bin is full of grain observe the
machine’s operation.
• Make all adjustments in small increments
at a time and then carefully observe the
machine. See Warning.
4. Restarting can become more difficult the
longer the Stir-Rite III augers are allowed
to sit idle. If the augers become “locked”
with packed or high moisture content see
APPENDIX for “RESTARTING - STUCK
AUGERS”.

6. After grain has been dried completely, shut
down the heater (or “burner”) and use the
fan only to cool the grain. Continue to run
the Stir-Rite system for about 48 hours to
ensure even mixing.
6. NECO recommends that the Stir-Rite III
system be used periodically during the
winter months as long as the grain is not
frozen.
TILT SWITCH FUNCTION
The Stir-Rite III uses a tilt switch to control the
amount of auger lag angle as the equipment is
moving around the bin. Some lagging is normal,
but will increase if tough areas of wet or dirty
grain are encountered.
Once the augers have lagged back to the tilt
switch setting, the switch shuts off the gear
motor - stopping the forward movement of the
machine.
The augers will keep running and work their
way through the grain and the equipment will
resume circling the bin once the augers have
worked their way back to within the range of the
tilt switch setting.
A “typical” auger lag behind true vertical would
be in the range of 5 to 7 degrees.

when rotating the switch downward:
• Move it ONLY in small increments
at a time.
• Then, carefully observe the
operation of the machine.
If the augers are allowed to lag too
much, they will kink or break off.
