5. STARTUP & OPERATION
FILLING
ATTENTION
Do not overfill the bin !!
• Stop filling the bin when grain is 18” below
the cross beam.
• Filling above this line may cause motor fail-
ure or belt failure.
• Never store grain above the cross beam
because damage to the bin is likely to occur.
1. Keep the Stir-Rite III system running when
filling the bin and during the early stages of
the drying process.
2. The amount of run time is determined by
the size of the bin, the number of augers,
and the moisture content of the grain.
OPERATION
ATTENTION
The center hatch must be open !!
• If the center hatch is closed, moisture will
fall onto the electrical connections and the
pivot—causing a short circuit.
1. The Stir-Rite III is designed to move dry
corn from the bottom of the bin and bring
it to the top. Use a grain probe to check
moisture levels - CHECK MULTIPLE
LOCATIONS since moisture content varies
throughout the bin.
2. As the drying process continues to the point
where moisture levels drop, you can turn
the machine off more frequently.
3. NOTE: The system should be run for a
least a few minutes each day to loosen up
the grain around the auger.
EQUIPMENT STARTUP
1. Make sure that all equipment and supplies
(such as ladders and tools) are out of the
bin.
2. With everyone out of the bin, turn the
power ON and be ready to shut it OFF
immediately.
3. Check the rotation on all augers. Rotation
must be clockwise as viewed from
above.
4. As soon as rotation is confirmed, turn the
Stir-Rite OFF.
5. If any auger is turning backwards, have the
wiring checked.
6. Once all auger rotation has been verified,
fill the bin with one full ring of grain at least
30 to 36 inches deep.
7. Turn the power ON.
8. Watch the equipment very carefully while
the auger trolleys make one full revolution
along the beam. Be sure that:
• The yoke arm moves freely around the
pulleys.
• Smooth movement of the drive wheel and
pivot wheel around the track.
9. Proceed with adding grain slowly while
observing the “first time” equipment
operation from the roof man hatch.
Before turning on the Stir-Rite, make sure no one is in the bin.
Stirring augers can grab clothing and entangle a person in the
auger, possibly causing severe injury or death.
LOCK OUT / TAG OUT the power
and have a qualified electrician
check the wiring.
