Chapter 2 Using Built-in DVD-RAM Drive
This chapter describes how to handle the Built-in DVD-RAM drive in its ordinary use. See
Appendix B for the description on disks and the notes on the handling the disks.
Power On/Off
The power of the Built-in DVD-RAM drive is supplied from the power unit built in the
computer. Turning on the power of the computer allows the power of the Built-in DVD-RAM
drive to be turned on automatically. In addition, turning off the power of the computer allows
the power of the Built-in DVD-RAM drive to be turned off automatically.
For the power on/off status, see the POWER lamp on the computer.
•
Do not repeat the power-on/off of the computer needlessly. Failure to follow it may
cause the Built-in DVD-RAM drive, the computer, and/or other connected devices to
malfunction or be defected.
•
Do not turn on the power of the computer with the eject button on the front of the
Built-in DVD-RAM drive remaining pressed. Failure to follow it may cause the internal
settings of the Built-in DVD-RAM drive to be changed and then the Built-in DVD-RAM
drive, the computer, and/or other connected devices to malfunction or be defected.
•
Do not turn off the power of the computer while the busy lamp on the front of the
Built-in DVD-RAM drive is illuminating. Failure to follow it may cause a part or all of
the data in the disk to be lost.
