Disassembly and Reassembly
System Fans
Four high-speed fans are mounted in the system chassis. Also, the system power
supply includes a fan that is an integral part of the supply and cannot be
replaced separately. Figure 4-48 shows the locations of the system fans.

Replacing a System Fan
1.
Power down the system and remove the top cover as described earlier in this
chapter.
2.
Locate the fan you are removing and disconnect the fan power connector
from the system board. See Figure 4-49 for the location of the fan power
connectors. Small reusable cable clamps located between the fans secure the
fan power cables. It is not necessary to cut these clamps when removing the
power cables.
