Checking for normal operation 

The BRM2 Brain Monitor is supplied with a Test Plug that terminates each EEG channel to confirm 
correct operation of the unit. See 

Checking for normal operation

 on page 30 for instructions. 

This check should be performed when the BRM2 Brain Monitor is first assembled and as part of the 
annual maintenance check. See 

Routine maintenance

 on page 33. 

There are no other user test procedures for the BRM2 Brain Monitor. 

Main Menu screen 

The 

Main Menu

 screen allows you to access the major functions of the BRM2 Brain Monitor, by 

touching “buttons” displayed on the touch screen. 

 

The functions controlled from the 

Main Menu

 screen are: 

• 

Assess Patient

: Begin a new patient assessment. 

• 

Manage Data

: Transfer data files to and from removable media, view previously recorded

 

files, 

(see page 26). 

• 

System Setup

: Configure settings, administer user accounts

 (see page 12). 

• 

Help

: Display the onscreen help system

,

 (see page 23). 

• 

Log Out

: Log out the current user. 

• 

Shutdown

: Shut down the BRM2 Brain Monitor. 

 

 

Operate the buttons by touching the surface of the screen lightly but decisively in the middle of the 
button graphic.
