S 07 MAINTENANCE
Fuel system
1. Loosen the clamps (2) and remove the fuel hoses (1).
2. Replace the new fuel hoses (1) using the hose kit and
8 new clamps.
CAUTION!
The fuel return hoses are not visible in the picture above
but are subject to the same replacement recommenda-
tions.
3. Tighten the hose clamps (2).
Specification
Clamp bands -
Torque
3 N·m
(2.21 ft-lbs)
DANGER!
Stop the engine during the inspection and replacement
described above.
4. Drain fuel system (see fuel filter replacement)
IMPORTANT!
Except when venting, be sure to keep the fuel injection
pump air vent coupling bolt closed. Otherwise, the engine
may stall.
THERMOSTAT REPLACEMENT
DANGER!
Stop the engine before replacing the thermostat. Do not
remove the thermostat from the heat exchanger until the
coolant temperature is too high. The thermostat should
be replaced every 2 years or 500 hours, whichever comes
first.
Thermostat Removal :
1. Drain the coolant (see relevant chapter).
2. Unscrew the hose clamp and remove the coolant
hose (see chapter on hose and clamp replacement).
3. Remove the two screws (2) that hold the thermostat
cover and remove the thermostat cover (3) with its
gasket (4).
4. Remove the thermostat (5) with its seal (4).
Thermostat installation :
1. Reinstall the thermostat (5) in the correct position (la-
bel down).
2. Reinstall the cover (3) with a new gasket (4), then re-
place and tighten the two screws (2).
3. Fill the coolant with the liquid recommended by NAN-
NI (see corresponding chapter).
