2.2.6 Interface signals explanation
INPUT
It is possible that the STR is connected to a previous machine with a 9Sub-D cable.
Through this cable, the STR communicate with the part of the system before the STR, using the X-can.
Signal name
Direction
Purpose
X Can
(High / Low)
Bidirectional bus between
machines in the system
Carries all communication between
the modules in the system.
Start In
(High / Low)
From previous machine (there
called Exit-H/L) -> STR
Used during system start-up to assign
node numbers for the Can bus.
OUTPUT
It is possible that the STR is connected to a next machine with a 9Sub-D cable.
Through this cable, the STR communicate with the part of the system after the STR, using the X-can.
Signal name
Direction
Purpose
X Can
(High / Low)
Bidirectional bus between
machines in the system
Carries all communication between
the modules in the system Exit-H/L.
Exit Out
(High / Low)
From STR -> next machine
(there called Start-H/L)
Used during system start-up to assign
node numbers for the Can bus.
INPUT
It is possible that the STR is connected to a previous machine with a 15Sub-D cable.
Through this cable, the STR communicate with the part of the system before the STR.
Signal name
Direction
Purpose
Alternate Interface
Start
From previous machine -> STR
To start the STR externally.
Alternate Interface
Ready / Not ready
From STR -> previous machine
To give the status from the STR to
the previous machine.
OUTPUT
It is possible that the STR is connected to a next machine with a 15Sub-D cable.
Through this cable, the STR transmit the communication between the machine after the STR to the machine
in front of the STR.
Signal name
Direction
Purpose
Alternate Interface
Ready / Not ready
From previous machine -> next
machine.
To give the status from the machine
after the STR to the machine in front.
