Lubrication
Verify that the PTO is properly lubricated prior to starting the engine.
Note: NACD will not be responsible for any damage or injury resulting from improper
adjustment and/or lubrication. This includes any accessory drives and loads.
Verify that the PTO is properly lubricated prior to starting the engine.
A. The throwout collar is lubricated by grease through grease fitting on the outside of
the main housing.
B. All SP318AM and SP318SBAM Series main bearings are lubricated by grease
through grease fitting in the housing or bearing carrier.
C. If used, the sealed for life pilot bearing should not be lubricated during service.
D. Pilot bearings designed for periodic lubrication must be greased. See Lubrication
in the Maintenance section for more information. Improper lubrication will result in
premature failure of components. DO NOT OVER GREASE!
