Chapter 5 Maintenance Guide
This chapter introduces the maintenance of UPS, including safety precautions, periodic preventative
maintenance, battery maintenance, fan maintenance and so on. Proper maintenance is the key to enable
the device run in the best status and with a longer service life.
5.1 Safety Precaution
Pay attention to the following safety operation regulations:
Remember that there always exists hazardous voltage inside UPS even when UPS does not run.
Before maintaining the UPS, use a multimeter to check the voltage and make sure that the UPS is
completely closed.
Before operating the UPS, remove rings, necklaces, watches or other conductive metal
ornaments. Do not wear loose clothing.
Operate it in strict accordance with safety procedures. If in doubt, please consult a certified
electrical technician to maintain your equipment.
The UPS has the function of battery polarity detecting. If the switch of external battery is closed
or battery polarity detection LED is on, that means the battery polarity is reverse connected, it is
necessary to disconnect the external battery switch and adjust the battery wiring.
Keep environment clean to avoid dust or chemical contamination pollution to UPS.
5.2 Periodic Preventative Maintenance
To improve the efficiency and reliability of the UPS system, please complete the following
preventative maintenance operations (every 3 months):
Examine the input and output terminals termly to ensure the good contact.
Examine fans working status termly to prevent sundries from plugging up the ventilation. If any
damage, please replace it at the time.
