ipconfig /all
with a space between the
g
and the forward slash. This will pull up the Windows IP
configuration for the computer.
3. Look for the IP address and subnet mask in the
ipconfig /all
screen (i.e., DHCP Enabled status and the DHCP
Server address). This information will be required if the technician has to change any of the addresses.

If the network has an active DHCP, then DHCP Enabled will show
Yes
. The technician must also have an
assigned IP address for the DHCP server (shown above).

If the network does not have an active DHCP, then DHCP Enabled will show
No
, which indicates a static
network.
•
If any of the above information is not provided, then the technician is working with a static network.
