From the perspective of the APEX1000, the major RTSP/MHA VOD control interfaces are

from the Edge Resource Manager (ERM1000).

The ERM1000 uses

to discover the Edge QAM (the APEX1000) and its
capabilities.

routes individual VOD sessions through the APEX1000, from an SPTS input at the
GigE interface to a program in an MPTS QAM output.
The other interfaces shown above relate to other functions and components in the
RTSP/MHA network, from the STB client, to the VOD streaming server, to the encryptor.
These are all controlled by the Session Manager.
