SETTINGS
Sect. 3 - USE AND MAINTENANCE
MGS corsa user's manual - page 3-26
The first step to setting a suspension is to set rear static sag (
∆
) according to rider's weight and tyres used.
Static sag (
∆
) is the difference between the unloaded dimension (5) and the loaded dimension with the rider on board
in riding position (6).
It is recommended that you take a few laps to help the suspension bed in before taking the necessary
measurements.
Measure the distance between the rear wheel shaft and a point in the fairing that you will mark with adhesive tape for
ease of reference.
Check to ensure measured sag (
∆
) falls within the tolerance range specified in the table below.
If not so, loosen the locking ring nut (4) using the suitable tool and turn the spring preload adjuster (3) until achieving
an acceptable value.
When you have set sag (
∆
), tighten the locking ring nut (4) with the suitable tool.
You may now tune your suspension by turning the adjusters (1 and 2) within the setting ranges specified in the
following table:
WARNING
When spring preload is increased, rebound damping should be increased accordingly to avoid
unexpected jerking while riding.
The indications provided in the table have been obtained after extensive testing by experienced test riders on different
racetracks and are valid for all types of racetracks.
