Addendum A
GATHERING NOTE DATA USING
THE IBA5 SYSTEM
NOTE
This procedure, and the data extracted using this procedure are confidential.
Introduction
When gathering note data, the instructions in this addendum supersede those in Chapter 4, System
Diagnostics, and Chapter 7, CAPS Interface.
Equipment and Software Required For Data Grabber Operations.
This procedure describes how to gather note data and requires the following items:
1. IBM-compatible personal computer (PC), 80386 or better, running at least 16MHz.
2. This PC must have one available serial (COM) port capable of running at 19,200 baud.
3. Serial communications software which can log incoming serial data directly to a file. The
commercial software Hyper Terminal provided with Windows is recommended, but any
communications or terminal software which can log data to disk may be used.
4. A Money Controls IBA5 Note Acceptor with standard chassis, as illustrated in
Figure A-1. The IBA5 includes the note acceptor, stacker and chassis with harness.
5. Currency from the country to be programmed..
6. 2x5665 CAPS Board as shown in Figures A-1.
7. Optional: To connect the 25-pin, male D-shell connector of the CAPS Board to the PC serial port
a combination of the following may be required:
- RS232 extension cable
- Female-to-female adapter plug or cable (gender changer)
- 25-to-9-pin adapter plug or cable
