4.2 DAB radio
1) Press the button MODE repeatedly
until
DAB radio
is shown on the dis -
play. The DAB station most recently
listened to will be played or, if the
operating mode is called up for the
first time, the station scan will au -
tomatically be started to find the
stations in your reception range:

Then, a list with the stations found

2) To select a station from the sta-
tion list: Turn the knob CONTROL
SELECT to select the station desired

play will show the station name
and information concerning the pro -
gramme and/or music title currently
played.

In the station list, a different station
can be selected and called up.
3) Station scan: To perform a new
station scan (e. g. because new sta -
tions are available), press the button
MENU, turn the knob CONTROL SE -
LECT to select
Scan
and then press
the knob to start the scan.
4) To indicate the signal strength
received for DAB channels: The
indication of the signal strength
received for the DAB channels 5
to 13 can be used to readjust the
alignment of a reception antenna
and / or to reposition the unit if re -
ception is poor. To call up the list
of the DAB channels, press the
button MENU, turn the knob CON -
TROL SELECT to select
Manual tune
and then press the knob to call it
up. Select and call up the channel
used to broadcast the correspond -
ing station (e. g. 7A). A bar graph
will indicate the signal strength
received. To return to the station list,
press the button MENU or BACK
repeatedly until the menu “DAB” is
shown. Then select and call up
Sta-
tion list
.
5) To save a station and to call up
a station saved: The procedure for
saving a station and for calling up
a station saved is the same as in
the operating mode “Internet radio”:

6) To remove inactive stations from the
station list: Stations that currently
do not broadcast signals can be
removed from the station list:
Press the button MENU, select the

Prune invalid
and then confirm
your selection. In the following con -
firmation prompt, select

7) To define the order of stations in the
station list: Press the button MENU,
select the line
Station order
and con -
firm your selection. The following
options are available:
A lphanumeric
= All stations are sorted
in alphanumeric order.
E nsemble
= All stations are sorted by
channels; multiple stations are re -
ceived for each channel.
V alid
= First, all channels that cur -
rently broadcast signals are listed
in alphanumeric order. Then the
stations that currently do not
broadcast signals are listed.
The current setting is indicated by
an asterisk

. Select and confirm the
setting desired.
8) To compress the dynamic range:
For some programmes, the dy -
namics of the audio signal can
be compressed: The volume of
quiet sounds will be increased
and loud sounds will be attenu -
ated (ideally suited for background
music, for example). Press the
button MENU; select the line
DRC
(Dynamic Range Control) and con -
firm your selection. The following
options are available:
DRC hi
gh
= high level of compres -
sion
DRC low
= low level of compression
DRC off
= no compression
The current setting is indicated by
an asterisk
*
. Select and confirm the
setting desired.
Note: The DRC setting will have no ef -
fect on the audio signal when no data
for compression are sent along with the
programme.
4.3 FM radio
1) Press the button MODE repeatedly
until
FM radio
is shown on the dis -
play. The FM station most recently
listened to will be played or, if the
operating mode is called up for the
first time, the first FM reception fre -
quency possible.

time, all stations must be scanned
and saved first (steps 3 and 4).
2) To change the scan setting: The
scan is factory-set to only stop at
stations with good reception. For
the automatic scan to stop at sta -
tions with poor reception, press the
button MENU. The menu “FM” will
appear:
