Name Definition
RCB-ICB communication cable RJ45 Ethernet cable which connects the RCB to the ICB.
RCB-top printing detection cable Cable which connects the RCB to the printing substrate front edge detector.
Side (right and left) stack cleats Guide to lock up the printing substrate stack sidewise at the printing substrate
feeder infeed. or the printing substrate stack at the stacker.
Side lay Guide in which the printing substrate is locked up when passing on the
margin table.
Spot Varnish Editor Image retouching software for varnish printing purposes.
Spot varnish file/mask (.tiff) File necessary for selective varnish printing.
Stack top cleat (stacker) Cleat used to stop the stack in length when the printing substrate is output to
the stacker.
Stacker Paper storage automatic stacker which collects the printed sheets from the
printing belt.
Surface energy Energy present on the surface of the printing substrate.
Surface tension Energy available on the surface of a varnish spot.
Three-way electrovalve Electrically controlled valve featuring three inputs/outputs.
Transport ball recess Recess which retains the ball on the transport ball support ruler.
Two-way electrovalve Electrically controlled valve featuring two inputs/outputs.
Upper pile limit sensor Sensor which is used to detect the sheet pile height.
UV curing LED LED which emits ultraviolet rays in order to cure varnish.
UV curing unit Device consisting of UV LEDs and placed after the printing plate in order to
dry varnish.
UV dissipator Guard attached to the LEDs to prevent UV light from reaching the print heads.
Vacuum adjustment Adjustment of the vacuum capacity of the printing substrates under the
printing belt.
Vacuum area Portion of the printing belt where the printing substrates are vacuumed up so
as to be held there.
Vacuum drum Roller which vacuums up the printing substrate and used to feed the margin
table.
Vacuum drum angular adjustment Vacuum drum adjustment necessary for printing substrate pick-up to be
optimum.

Vacuum pump Pump which provides for vacuum in the air system.
Vacuum system Air system designed for quick vacuum of the purging system immediately
after purging.
Vacuum width adjustment Adjustment of the width of the vacuum areas of the printing substrates under
the printing belt.
Vacuum/Blowing pump Pump used to feed the printing substrate pick-up.
Varnish filter Filter which purifies varnish prior to sending it into the print heads.
Varnish pipes (black) Opaque black pipe intended to supply varnish to the system.
Varnish printhead support Support where the print heads are placed.
Varnish pump Pump used to make varnish flow in the varnish system.
Varnish system Whole varnish system made up of varnish pipes (black).
Venting Venting of the varnish system so as to allow varnish to freely flow out.
Venting pipe Pipe fitted with a filter used to vent the varnish system.
X start Electronic correction used to position print heads in the perpendicular
direction upon feeding of the printing substrate.
Y start Electronic correction used to position print heads in the direction of transport
of the printing substrate.
