Engine Coupler
1. Lubricate engine coupler splines through grease fittings on coupler by applying
approximately 8‑10 pumps of grease from a typical hand‑operated grease gun.
NOTE: If the boat is operated at idle for prolonged periods of time, coupler should be
lubricated
Bravo Models
‑ every 50 hours;
Alpha Models
‑ every 150 hours.

Bravo Models
‑ The coupler and shaft splines can be lubricated without removing
the sterndrive unit. Apply lubricant from a typical hand‑operated grease gun until a small
amount of grease begins to push out.
Propellers
Propeller Repair
Some damaged propellers can be repaired. Contact your authorized Mercury MerCruiser
dealer.
Bravo Three Propeller Removal

WARNING
Rotating propellers can cause serious injury or death. Never operate the boat out of the
water with a propeller installed. Before installing or removing a propeller, place the drive
unit in neutral and engage the lanyard stop switch to prevent the engine from starting.
Place a block of wood between the propeller blade and the anti‑ventilation plate.
1. Place wood block between propeller blades and anti‑ventilation plate to prevent
rotation.
2. Remove the bolt and washers securing the propeller shaft anode.
