4.9.2 Battery maintenance and storage
To avoid damage to the battery, disconnect the battery
if the vehicle is to be parked up for a period longer than
one week. If the vehicle is parked up for periods of lon-
ger than one month, remove the battery and store it in
a dry place at temperatures between 32 °F and 86 °F
(0 °C to 30 °C). Store the battery in an upright posi-
tion. The battery voltage must be kept above 12.55 V at
all times.
!
Note
If the battery voltage drops below 12.1 V, the battery
is damaged and it will have to be replaced.
4.9.3 Work before handing over the modified

Checking the overall vehicle
Check that the vehicle is in perfect condition. Repair
any damage if necessary.
Checking the brake system
The brake fluid must be renewed every two years. If it
is not known how long the vehicle has been in storage,
the brake fluid must be renewed. Check electrical and
hydraulic lines for all types of damage and repair or
replace if necessary.
Checking the battery

necessary.
Checking the tires
Before handing over the vehicle, check that the tires
are inflated to the specified pressure and check the
tires for damage. Damaged tires must be replaced.
Checking the wheel alignment
We recommend checking the wheel alignment if modi-
fications are made by a qualified Metris workshop. See
the Metris service manual for more information.
