7.6 Attachments
7 Modifications to the basic vehicle
Windows
•
The installation of windows within the area of fitted
shelving is not recommended.
•
A cargo van is recommended as the basic vehicle.
Shelf systems should only be installed in the area of
the unglazed sidewall.
Partition
•
See chapter 7.2.2 “Partition” (
Safety equipment
The installation locations of safety equipment and
airbag deployment areas must not be constrained
or modified (see chapter 7.4.2 “Safety equipment”
(
Electrics/electronics
•
Please observe the information in chapter 9 “Elec-
trical system” (
Page 97) when installing elec-
trical or electronic equipment and/or consumers
in combination with shelving or workshop installa-
tions.
•
The wiring harness routing for the interior illumi-
nation or for the trailer hitch in the roof or in the
D-pillar may not be impaired.
•
The electrical limits/specifications (maximum
connected loads (see e.g. chapter 9.5.4 “Interior
lamps” (
Page 108); voltage 12 V, electrical
power 80 W, rated fuse values) with respect to the
installation of lamps/LEDs must be observed.

Note
Shelving or workshop installations reduce the avail-
able payload by the weight of the installation!
Drilling areas

WARNING
Before drilling, always pay attention to the various
elements underneath the component being drilled
such as the tank, wiring, brake hoses, handbrake
cable etc.
Drilling in the floor
Pay attention to the following when drilling the floor of
the body:
•
Drilling is not permitted in the area of the cable
duct which runs longitudinally along the center of
the vehicle floor.
•
The holes (diameter 9 mm) must be positioned
away from the edge area/line of tendency of the
ribbing.
