4 Planning of bodies

4.2

Vehicle modifications

Before starting work on the vehicle, the upfitter must
check whether:

•

the vehicle is suitable for the planned vehicle
modification

•

the vehicle model and equipment are suitable for
the operating conditions intended for the vehicle.

You can plan vehicle modifications by downloading 2D
drawings from the Upfitter portal of Mercedes-Benz
USA, LLC and Daimler Vans USA, LLC and by access-
ing product information and technical data from the
communications system (see chapter 1.1 “Overview”
(

Page 4)). Please also specify which additional

equipment is being installed by the manufacturer.

Note

Adequate clearances must be maintained in order
to ensure the function and operational safety of
assemblies.

WARNING

Do not carry out any modifications to the steering or
brake system. Any modifications to the steering and
the brake system may result in these systems mal-
functioning and ultimately failing. The driver could
lose control of the vehicle and cause an accident.

On no account should modifications be made to the
soundproofing.
