Example of an approval label
When fitting a belt-secured child restraint system
on the co-driver's seat, always observe the fol‐
lowing:
O
When using a child restraint system in the
"Universal" category, ensure that it is
approved for the vehicle seat.
O
Observe the manufacturer's installation and
operating instructions for the child restraint
system used.
O
The backrest of a forward-facing child
restraint system must, as far as possible,
rest flat against the backrest of the co-driv‐
er's seat.
O
The child restraint system must not be put
under strain between the roof and the seat
cushion and/or be fitted facing the wrong
direction. Adjust the seat backrest angle as
appropriate.
O
The child restraint system must not be put
under strain by the head restraint. Adjust the
head restraints as appropriate.
O
Never place objects under or behind the
child restraint system, e.g. cushions.
#
Move the co-driver's seat as far back as pos‐
sible.
#
Fully retract the seat cushion length adjust‐
ment.
#
Adjust the seat cushion angle in such a way
that the front of the seat cushion is in the
topmost position and the rear of the seat
cushion in the lowest position.
#
Adjust the seat backrest to an almost vertical
position.
#
Fit the child restraint system.
The entire base of the child restraint system
must always rest on the seat cushion of the
co-driver's seat.
#
Always make sure that the shoulder belt strap
is correctly routed from the seat belt outlet of
the vehicle to the shoulder belt guide on the
child restraint system.
The shoulder belt strap must be routed for‐
wards and downwards from the seat belt out‐
let.
#
If necessary, adjust the seat belt outlet and
the co-driver's seat as appropriate.
