The following table details the fields in the
Cluster Configuration
window.
Table
6-4. Cluster Configuration Fields
Parameter
Description
Cluster Mode
Disable
Enable
Cluster ID
Identification number of this cluster
Cluster Priority
Priority of this cluster
Hashtable Algorithm
The load balancing is performed according to the hash algorithm
(XOR IB eth, IB, ETH):
XOR-InfiniBand-Ethernet
(Default)
– mathematical operation
performed between IB and Eth IP addresses.
InfiniBand
– IP address of the InfiniBand Host for any Ethernet
address.
Ethernet
– IP address of the Ethernet Host for any InfiniBand
address.
Loopback prevention Prevents loops between gateways. The following prevention
modes are available:
None
– Should be used only on a standalone 10 GbE gateway.
Full
– Blocks all traffic between 10 GbE gateways in the fabric.
Automatic
– Blocks all 10 GbE gateways that are members of
the same cluster. Useful when connecting two separate Ethernet
subnets to one IB network or vice-versa.
Manual
– Blocks all traffic between 10 GbE gateways that have
the same cluster ID. Used for back-to-back configurations,
where 10 GbE gateways are connected directly to each other
over Ethernet links. Requires the configuration of a cluster ID on
each gateway.
Box ID (0x)
A hexadecimal number that uniquely identifies a single 10GbE
gateway (derives from its hardware address). It is used by one
of the optional loop prevention methods.
Auto join cluster
After being automatically detected a sRB-20210G can be set to
automatically join the cluster. This means that it is now able to
transfer packets.
Options:
Yes/No
Default:
Yes
Load Balance
Algorithm
The traffic can be balanced between the sRB-20210G Gateways
according to the load balancing algorithm.
Options:
active-active, master-standby
Default:
active-active
active-active
– all sRB-20210G Gateways in the cluster transfer
packets.
master-standby
– only one sRB-20210G in the cluster transfers
packets, the others are in Standby Mode. The sRB-20210G that
will transfer the traffic is the one with the highest priority.
