4.2.2 Patients with bipolar pacemakers
For bipolar pacemakers, the electrode array is set up almost identically to the standard
configuration. To accommodate the bipolar pacemaker, the electrodes of
channel B
are
always applied in the direction of the electrical heart axis above and below the heart. The
channel B electrode separation must be shortened for bipolar pacemaker patients however.
Channel A:
red (1)/green (4) electrodes,
Channel B (pm):
yellow (2)/white (3) electrodes
Ground (reference): black (5) electrode
4.2.3 Patients with mixed pacemaker operation
For patients with mixed pacemaker operation (unipolar detection and bipolar stimu-
lation), the electrode array must be established identically to how it was for pa-
tients with bipolar pacemakers. If the pacemaker spike in the real-time recording is
not detected on the lower section of the screen and marked with a red point, the
electrode array must be modified on a case by case basis.
4.2.4 Lead scheme using patient cable 3 for pacemaker patients
Similar to patient cable 2 the electrodes of lead B (yellow/white) must be adjusted,
that pacemaker spikes are recognized.
Please follow the instructions of preceding sections.
