Troubleshooting
Crash recovery
In the unlikely event that machine stops responding to touch or external mouse press and hold
power button for a few seconds (make sure the device has turned off). After a while you can turn on
the duplicator. Restarting the device will stop active processes.
Black screen issues
In case of any issues related with missing display it is advised to connect external monitor (HDMI or
DVI), restart the machine and see if any messages appear.
Service and repairs
For help in resolving any problems contact Mediarecovery support centre at
[email protected]. In an email please provide details about the device’s serial number,
nature of the problem, steps taken before and after the problem occurred, additionally the software
version number and possible error information displayed on the screen. It is not recommended to
perform any advanced repairs without consulting our support engineer.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Mediaimager write-protect the source drive?
Yes, duplicator is fully complaint with digital forensic rules and source ports are write-blocked.
How fast is MI at duplicating hard drives?
Duplication speed is dependent on the slowest drive used in the process. If fast drives are used, MI
can duplicate them up to 22GB/min.
Does MI duplicator work with USB memory card readers?
Yes, MI duplicator works with USB memory card readers and there is one attached in the SuperKIT
version. It supports SD (HC/XC), microSD (HC/XC), MS/DUO and CF cards.
I recalculated hash value from the SSD drive and it is different from the original one. Have I done
something wrong?
Probably, you did everything ok, however SSD’s functions like TRIM move data on it which changes
the hash values.
