H. FS 230.50 Tub Bulkhead Assembly
(Ref. Figure 2)
The FS 230.50 bulkhead assembly is a
built-up assembly that is a primary structure.
This bulkhead assembly provides support for
loads in the lateral and vertical directions.
This bulkhead assembly also forms the aft
wall of the fuel cell cavity and supports the
loads produced by the fuel in the fuel cell. In
addition, this bulkhead assembly provides for
attachment of the aft skid attachment
assembly. This assembly is installed into the
tub assembly between the keel beams, against
the interior surface of the aft flange of the tub
shell.
NOTE:
The bracket for attachment of the fuel
system crossfeed valve, is not installed on
902 CONFIG aircraft.
This assembly incorporates a two piece vertical
web, a reinforcing plate, two vertical stiffeners,
secondary angles for attachment of the cabin
and baggage compartment floors, a secondary
angle for attachment of the fuel cell liner, and
a bracket for attachment of the fuel system
crossfeed valve. All components in this
assembly, excluding the hardware, are
fabricated from aluminum alloy sheet.
Attachment of all components within this
assembly, as well as secondary attachment of
this assembly into the tub assembly, is by
rivets.
I. FS 230.50 Lower Frame Assemblies
(Ref. Figure 2)
The left and right FS 230.50 lower frame
assemblies are primary structural components.
These assemblies join the aft outboard ends of
the tub assembly, the forward vertical ends of
the rear fuselage shell assemblies, and the mid
section of the roof assembly. These assemblies
provide support in the vertical and lateral
directions.
Each assembly incorporates a vertical web,
web doubler plate, an inboard reinforcing
channel, horizontal stiffening angles, second­
ary attachment angles, a splice plate, and a
butt joint strap. All components within each
assembly are, with the exception of the
secondary keel beam attachment angles and
the hardware, fabricated from aluminum alloy
sheet. The secondary keel beam attachment
angles are machined from aluminum alloy
extrusion. Attachment of all components
within this assembly, as well as secondary
attachment of this assembly to adjacent
structural components, is by rivets.
J. Aft Skid Attachment Assembly
(Ref. Figure 6)
The aft skid attachment assembly is a primary
structural component that includes the
attachment for mounting of the aft crosstube.
This assembly, which is secondarily fastened to
the tub shell and keel beams of the tub
assembly and to the FS 230.50 tub bulkhead
assembly, transfers vertical, lateral, and
longitudinal loads from the aft crosstube into
the fuselage structure. Secondary fastening of
this assembly is by rivets. This assembly also
provides for attachment of the lower edges of
the boat tail assembly.
Components that are included in this assembly
are the crosstube box panels, left and right aft
skid attachment fittings, keel beam attach­
ment fittings, doublers, horizontal and vertical
stiffening angles and channels, and reinforcing
angles. All components, with the exception of
the aft skid attachment, the hardware, and
keel beam fittings, are fabricated from
aluminum alloy sheet. The aft skid attach­
ment fittings are machined from aluminum
alloy stock. The keel beam attachment fittings
are machined from aluminum alloy extrusions.
Attachment of all components within this
assembly, as well as secondary attachment of
this assembly to adjacent structural compo­
nents, is by rivets or pins and collars.
