9. Timing Outputs – Serial, IRIG-B, NTP
9.1 Timing Output – Serial
9.1.1 NMEA-0183 RMC Time frame output
GPS TIME SYNC UNIT MC-1-DE transmits NMEA time frame from serial terminal at front panel of
unit at every 1 second at every 1 second at 9600 (baud rate), 8 (Data bits), N (NONE parity), 1 (1
stop bit). User can change the serial communication settings serial configuration method on serial
terminal as explained in section 8.2.2. The NMEA-0183 $GPRMC serial time string contains time and
date of position fix, speed and course information.
NOTE: GPS TIME SYNC UNIT MC-1-DE can be configured to transmit T-format or NGTS or NMEA
time frame through its serial terminal at front panel. The type of serial frame i.e. NMEA time frame
can be selected by parameter “SET TRANSMIT MODE” through serial configuration command
“TC21”as per section 8.2.4.
The full data message of this format shall consist of data fields as follows:

9.1.2 T-Format Time frame output:
GPS TIME SYNC UNIT MC-1-DE transmits T-format time frame from serial terminal at front panel of
unit at every 1 second at 9600 (baud rate), 8 (Data bits), N (NONE parity), 1 (1 stop bit). User can
change the serial communication settings serial configuration method on serial terminal as explained
in section 8.2.2.
