Samplerate on record/playback
Please note, that a certain samplerate for the TRACE PRO AE can only be
set, if the used clock-source is the internal clock. If synchronized externally
(Clock is being read from an AES/EBU input or from the SyncBus), the
samplerate will be defined by the connected devices.
Different sample rates on record/playback
You already work with certain in- or outputs of the TRACE PRO AE with
a certain sample rate. Now you wish to use other in- or outputs
simultaneously, but with another sample rate. Since the TRACE PRO AE
can be operated with one sample rate, only, the driver will inhibit the usage
of the additional in- or outputs. The simultaneous operation of the TRACE
PRO AE with different sample rates in possible using the standard-MME or
directSound driver, only.
Simultaneous playback on one channel
Example: You are playing back on a certain device (e.g. “TRACE PRO AE
1-2”) of the TRACE PRO AE. Now you wish to playback another signal of
another software application via the same device. The TRACE PRO AE
driver will inhibit this, except if the simultaneous playback of several audio
programs via the same device happens using the standard-MME or
directSound drivers.
Parallel recording and playback
Example: A playback is running on the TRACE PRO AE, using the internal
clock source. Now you wish to start a recording simultaneously. Without
the sample rate converters for this a switching of the clock-source is
required. But this would cause distortion signals on the running playback.
The TRACE PRO AE manager and driver will always inhibit a switching
of the clock-source, if a playback or recording is already going on.
