D epend ing on th e c ond itions of use and th e
ambient temperature, the indication may differ slightly
from the actual capacity.
Switch action
WARNING:
Before installing the battery car-
tridge into the tool, always check to see that the
switch trigger actuates properly and returns to
the " OFF" position when released.
WARNING:
NEVER defeat the lock-off button
by taping down or some other means.
A sw itc h w ith
a negated lock-off button may result in unintentional
operation and serious personal injury.
WARNING:
NEVER use the tool if it runs when
you simply pull the switch trigger without press-
ing the lock-off button.
A sw itc h in need of repair
may result in unintentional operation and serious
personal injury. Return tool to a Makita service center
f or proper repairs BEF O R E f urth er usage.
To prevent the switch trigger from being accidentally pulled, a lock-
of f button is prov id ed . T o start th e tool, d epress th e loc k-of f button
and pull th e sw itc h trigger. R elease th e sw itc h trigger to stop.

NOTICE:
Do not pull the switch trigger hard
without pressing in the lock-off button.

CAUTION:
The tool starts to brake the cir-
cular saw blade rotation immediately after you
release the switch trigger. Hold the tool firmly to
respond the reaction of the brake when releasing
the switch trigger.

Automatic speed change function
T h is tool h as " h igh speed mod e" and " h igh torq ue
mod e" .
The tool automatically changes the operation mode
depending on the work load. When the work load is low,
th e tool w ill run in th e " h igh speed mod e" f or q uic ker
cutting operation. When the work load is high, the tool
w ill run in th e " h igh torq ue mod e" f or pow erf ul c utting
operation.

T h e mod e ind ic ator ligh ts up in green w h en th e tool is
running in " h igh torq ue mod e" .
I f th e tool is operated w ith ex c essiv e load , th e mod e
ind ic ator w ill blink in green. T h e mod e ind ic ator stops
blinking and then lights up or turns off if you reduce the
load on th e tool.

Adjusting depth of cut
CAUTION:
After adjusting the depth of cut,
always tighten the lever securely.
L oosen th e lev er on th e d epth guid e and mov e th e base
up or d ow n. A t th e d esired d epth of c ut, sec ure th e base
by tightening the lever.
F or c leaner, saf er c uts, set c ut d epth so th at no more
than one blade tooth projects below workpiece. Using
proper c ut d epth h elps to red uc e potential f or d anger-
ous KICKBACKS which can cause personal injury.

CAUTION:
After adjusting the bevel angle,
always tighten the clamping screws securely.

by tilting accordingly, then tighten the clamping screws
securely.
