Sighting
F or straigh t c uts, align th e 0° position on th e f ront of th e
base with your cutting line. For
bevel cuts, align the
4 5 ° position w ith it.

Lighting the lamp
CAUTION:
Do not look in the light or see the
source of light directly.
T o turn on th e lamp w ith out running th e tool, pull th e
sw itc h trigger w ith out pressing th e loc k-of f button.
T o turn on th e lamp w ith th e tool running, press and h old
th e loc k-of f button and pull th e sw itc h trigger.
T h e lamp goes out 1 0 sec ond s af ter releasing th e sw itc h trigger.

NOTE:
Use a dry cloth to wipe the dirt off the lens of
th e lamp. Be c aref ul not to sc ratc h th e lens of lamp, or
it may lower the illumination.
Hook
Optional accessory
CAUTION:
Always remove the battery when
hanging the tool with the hook.
CAUTION:
Never hook the tool at high loca-
tions or on the surfaces where the tool may lose
the balance and fall.
CAUTION:
Do not pull the tool downward
when it is hooked.
The hook is convenient for hanging the tool temporarily.

To use the hook, simply turn the hook until it snaps into
th e open position.
When not in use, always turn the hook until it snaps into
th e c losed position.

Electric brake
T h is tool is eq uipped w ith an elec tric blad e brake. I f th e tool c on-
sistently fails to quickly stop the circular saw blade after switch

CAUTION:
The blade brake system is not a
substitute for blade guard. NEVER USE TOOL

Electronic function
The tools equipped with electronic function are easy to
operate because of the following feature(s).
Soft start feature

ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the tool is
switched off and the battery cartridge is removed
before carrying out any work on the tool.
Hex wrench storage
When not in use, store the hex wrench as shown in the
figure to keep it from being lost.

Removing or installing circular saw
blade
CAUTION:
Be sure the circular saw blade is
installed with teeth pointing up at the front of the
tool.
CAUTION:
Use only the Makita wrench to
install or remove the circular saw blade.

fully so that the circular saw blade cannot revolve and
use th e h ex w renc h to loosen th e h ex bolt. T h en remov e
the hex bolt, outer flange, circular saw blade and ring
(country specific).

other than 15.88 mm hole-diameter
saw blade
The inner flange has a certain diameter protrusion on
one sid e of it and a d if f erent d iameter protrusion on th e
oth er sid e. C h oose a c orrec t sid e on w h ic h protrusion
fits into the saw blade hole perfectly. Mount the inner
flange onto the mounting shaft so that the correct side
of protrusion on the inner flange faces outward and then
place saw blade and outer flange.

WARNING:
BE SURE TO TIGHTEN THE HEX
BOLT CLOCKW
ISE SECURELY. Also be careful
not to tighten the bolt forcibly. Slipping your hand
from the hex wrench can cause a personal injury.
WARNING:
Make sure that the protrusion " a"
on the inner ange that is positioned outside fits
into the saw blade hole " a" perfectly.
