NOTES:
•
After making the initial speaker balance adjustments
using the TEST TONE , it may be necessary to change
the Center or Surround level slightly using actual pro-
gram material.
•
Keep in mind that the Center channel may provide most
of the sound during some portions of the program, par-
ticularly when the program material consists of dialog
only.
•
It is normal for the Surround speakers to provide little
or no sound during some portions of a program. The
sound delivered to the Surround speakers depends on
the program material, and many programs the surround
information is limited.

Dolby Digital is the official term for the AC-3 mode, and it is
a system developed by Dolby Laboratories to transmit the
5-plus-1-channel digital signals altogether.
Whereas Dolby Pro Logic is an analog matrix system, Dolby
Digital (AC-3) employs digital discrete system in which each
channel is treated as a separate entity. It is used for the
DVDs which are a new-generation AV media, and it repre-
sents the new format which supports not only laser discs
but also the advance which will be made in AV components
of the future.
This mode is used to enjoy digital source, such as music
sources or movie software.
