Using Lorex Client
Exporting to AVI
Lorex Client allows you export
.VVF
files to
.AVI
for increased flexibilty when playing back the
video in third-party media players, such as VLC™ and DivX Player™. Converting the file to AVI
can be particularly useful if you need to provide authorities with copies of your video data if there
is a security incident at your business or home.
Note:
The DivX or XviD codec (not included) is required if viewing AVIs in Windows Media
Player™.

To export video files:
1. Open Lorex Client.
2. Right-click anywhere on the main display screen and select Export>
AVI
.
3. In the Export window, under Input File, click
Browse
to select the file to be exported (.VVF).
4. Under Output File, click
Browse
to select a save location for the exported file (by default,
output files are saved to the save location as the input file).
Note:
Output files carry the default naming convention,
CAPTURE-CH(channelnumber).avi
.
5. Under Export Channel, check/uncheck the boxes for channels 1~4.
6. Under Audio, check/uncheck the box to include/exclude audio in the file conversion.
7. Under Compression, click
Select
. In the Video Compression window, select a compression
type from the drop-down menu and click
OK

page 41.
8. In the Export window, click
OK
. File conversion begins. Exporting to AVI could take several
moments depending on the number of channels being exported, the inclusion of audio, and
the size of the original file.
Note:
Depending on your compression type, windows may open windows showing the progress
of the file conversion for each channel. When the files are finished exporting to AVI, you can
close these windows.
Note:
Lorex Client creates a placeholder file,
dummy.avi
in the Output folder.
