6 Safety devices

6.1 Temperature Protection

The lamp housing is provided with a thermo sensor for monitoring temperature inside the

housing. This sensor is located on the PCB inside the lamp housing.
An error message is displayed whenever temperature gets too high, and the controller
shuts the lamp off. As soon as temperature is back to normal, the error message
indicated on the display can be reset and the lamp can be re-ignited.
The will happen also to solve problems with condensation if the unit is too cold. Let the
unit reach room temperature.

If temperature protection has been tripped, check ventilation slots and fans!

6.2 Door Safety Switch

When the exposure cycle is in progress, the door safety switch prevents opening of the

door while the shutter is open.

WARNING!

Removing, bypassing or putting out of operation of the safety devices can result in
radiation damage to persons and damage to the unit and is therefore prohibited!

6.3 Intensity Monitor

To control the bulb performance an UV sensor is installed. The value of the intensity is

made in percent after each exposure and displayed at the controller.
A value for the UV minimum output can be adjusted in the menu.
If the bulb performance decreases below the adjusted value the bulb should be changed.
At the first installation a UV minimum value can be set. This value should be changed if
the required curing results are not achieved. This corrected value is valid for further
bulbs.

The error message UV MINIMUM is displayed at the controller. It will be provided as a

electrical signal also at the interface XS 2, see section 9.2.

7 Environmental Protection

7.1 Equipment

The unit may be returned to Henkel AG & Co. KGaA for disposal, or must be disposed of

in compliance with local regulations.

7.2 UV Bulb

CAUTION!

The bulb contains mercury or gallium. Do not dispose with household trash.
Disposal as hazardous waste required. If there is no appropriate disposal site available,
return lamp to Henkel after use.
