Compressed
air and gas
Fumes
• Plasma operations and the oxyfuel processes require compressed gas supplies. These
may require the placement of gas cylinders, regulators, and lines in the space near the CNC
cutting system.
• Leave adequate space for moving empty and replacement cylinders and for safe placement
of pressurized and flammable gases well away from the operation of the cutting torch.
• Recognize that smoke and dust are created by the cutting processes. Plan to remove it and
to provide a supply of clean air.
Consumables
• If you know the types of materials and the thicknesses you will be cutting, you can plan
to keep a good stock of consumables on hand. This will avoid machine downtime and the
scramble to obtain replacement consumables on short notice.

The Lincoln Electric
Modular Extraction
Hood removes dust
and smoke.
The Lincoln Electric
Mobile Welding
Fume Extractor with
