Disconnect the brake lines from the frame mounted bulkheads.
(4)
Disconnect both hydraulic hoses from the steering cylinder.
(5)
Remove the bolts securing the shocks to the front axle.
(6)
Support the front axle. Remove the bolts passing through the front leaf
spring eyes.
(7)
Remove the u-bolts.
(8)
Lower the front axle and pull it out from under the vehicle.
Installation:
(1)
Reverse the above procedure for installation.
(2)
Bleed the brakes. Be sure to check the brake fluid level in the reservoir.
(3)
After allowing the engine to come to operating temperature, cycle the
steering lock to lock and check the fluid level in the steering reservoir.
15. STEERING COLUMN:
Removal:
(1) Remove the horn button cover.
(2) Remove the steering wheel.
(3) Remove the turn signal switch from the
steering column.
(4) Remove the horn wire from the clip on
the steering column.
(5) Remove the thumb screws from the
upper edge of the dash and lower it.
