SureStepFlexx Meter Operator’s Guide
Transferring Data
Data transfer is required periodically to exchange
information between the workstation and the meter.
Configuration information is transferred from the
workstation to the meter, and QC and patient test
results are transferred from the meter to the
workstation.

NOTE:
If you are using a meter in stand-alone mode,
this section does not apply to you. Should you wish to
change any of the meter’s preconfigured settings,
contact the LifeScan Healthcare Professional Line
for assistance.
If necessary, your institution may establish a regular
schedule for performing data transfer sessions.
Several DataLink connectivity options are available for
use with the SureStepFlexx Meter. For more
information, refer to the
DataLink Connection Guide.
Using a Connection Module
A connection module allows you to transfer data from
remote locations, either through modems or over a
network. When the meter is placed in the connection
module, the infrared ports on the meter and
connection module are aligned and data is transferred
via infrared communication.

The meter may be set to warn you and/or lock
you out if a data transfer session is not
performed within a designated number of days.
