Firmware download to the 931E / firmware update

The firmware is the ”operating program” of the 931E servo positioning controller. The

controllers are already delivered with a firmware. Under the following circumstances a

new firmware may have to be loaded:

ƒ

Update to a new firmware version.

ƒ

Firmware download with customer-specific functions to make additional functions

available.

ƒ

Incomplete firmware (e.g. as a result of a cancelled firmware download).

As part of the further product development, the parameter setting program may include

options which can only be activated with a more recent firmware version.
If the 931E servo positioning controller contains no or only an incomplete firmware

version, the following window will appear:

If the correct firmware is already available in the 931E servo positioning

controller, the error message will not be displayed. In this case, the following

chapter may be skipped!

Select the menu

and open the

Firmware/hardware

tab to read

out the current firmware version of the controller.

to load a new firmware.

When a new firmware is loaded, the parameter set saved in the servo positioning

controller will be overwritten. Therefore, the following message will be indicated:
