multiple

VLANs.

MSTP

was

originally

defined

IEEE

802.1s

(2002)

and

was

later

included

IEEE 802.1Q (2003).

MSTP

mode,

the

NE2552E

supports

instances

Spanning

Tree,

corresponding

STGs 1

‐

32,

with

each

STG

acting

independent,

simultaneous

instance

STP.

MSTP

allows

frames

assigned

different

VLANs

separate

paths,

with

each

path

based

independent

Spanning

Tree

instance.

This

approach

provides

multiple

forwarding

paths

for

data

traffic,

thereby

enabling

load

‐

balancing,

and

reducing

the

number

Spanning

Tree

instances

required

support

large

number

VLANs.

Due

Spanning

Tree’s

sequence

discarding,

learning,

and

forwarding,

lengthy

delays

may

occur

while

paths

are

being

resolved.

Ports

defined

edge

ports

bypass

the

Discarding

and

Learning

states,

and

enter

directly

into

the

Forwarding

state.

Note:

MSTP

mode,

MSTP Region

region,

provides

single

Spanning

Tree

instance

interact

with

them.

CIST

enable/disable,

These

parameters

not

affect

Spanning

Tree

Groups
