Insufficient system pressure. • Repair or replace and/or re-adjust
accordingly.
• If problem persists, replace the
relief valve cartridge.
Hard steering effort in one or
both directions.
Improperly sized tires.
Vehicle overloaded
Low hydraulic fluid.
Low flow rate or fluid pressure, load
sense line restricted.
Components in steering linkage,
binding or making noise.
• Check tire specs described in the
Bendi IC Operator's Manual
F-500.
• See “Inspect Tires” in Chapter 2,
Planned Maintenance. page 2-6.
• NEVER exceed capacity of the
truck. Check capacity nameplate for
tire specs.
• Also see “Understanding Stability”
in the Bendi IC Operator's Manual
F-500.
• See “Check Hydraulic Oil Level,”
on page 2-4, Planned Maintenance.
• Restriction in fluid return line.
Remove line, clean and/or replace
line.
• Check pump. See “Auxiliary Pump,
Steer and Lift Circuit,”
page 3-25.
• Check hydraulic pressure.
Eliminate restriction in load sense
line. Line may be damaged/kinked,
if so, replace line.
• Find source of problem and repair,
such as - Steering column - See
“Steering Column,” on page 3-29.
Orbital steering unit - See “Orbital

page 3-30. Front
rotation neck upper and/or lower
bearings - See “Rotation Seals,

ear, ” on

Lost motion at the steering
wheel.
Steering wheel loose on column or
stripped.
Air in the hydraulic system.
• Check and re-torque the steering
wheel locking nut.
• Replace steering wheel
• Check the inlet connections to
determine where air is being drawn
into the system.
• Tighten loose connections.
• Bleed hydraulic system.
