when overtaking, you need to press
the accelerator pedal. This will
increase engine speed. If the press is
intense enough, the gearbox will be
automatically switched to lower gear
to be selected depending on the cur-
rent speed of the vehicle and press
intensity.
2
(second gear) – used when
upgrading and for effective engine
braking.
1
(low gear) – used when climbing
at low speed, as well as when driving
in heavy traffic conditions (sand,
deep dirt, etc.). In addition, this gear
provides the most effective downhill
braking of the engine.
O/D
– «Overdrive» button. Used
to limit high gear in the automatic
gear-change mode.

with automatic transmission, see
«Features of driving with automatic
transmission».
VENTILATION AND HEATING
SYSTEM CONTROL
In the design
the vehicle can be
equipped either with heating and
ventilation system or with climate
control system.
1 –
fan switch handle.
2 –
heater switch handle.
3 –
recirculation shutter lever
handle.
4 –
air flow distributor handle.
Heating and ventilation system is
designed to create interior comfort
temperature, the value of which is
regulated with the ventilation and
heating system control unit (Fig. 41).
However, it cannot provide the interi-
or air temperature lower than of
outer air.
The air box of the heating and
ventilation system is equipped with
the air filter that is designed to clean
air entering the passenger compart-
ment, from dust, pollen, smoke, and
bugs. Replacing the filter and clean-
ing the drain hole in the front panel
are carried out at any certified
SSNEs every 15,000 km (for driving
along the dusty roads – if neces-
sary).
Warning
Proper use of controls for heat-
ing and ventilation system in
accordance with the recommen-
dations can improve safety of
traffic by quickly cleaning of win-
dows of snow and ice, as well as
defogging.
Remember – quick cleaning of
windows and the most efficient
interior heating are possible only
when the engine is fully warmed
up!
