RAIN AND LIGHT SENSORS
In the design variant vehicles
are equipped with a combined rain
and light sensor, which is located on
the windshield behind the rear view
mirror (Fig. 37).
ATTENTION!
For correct operation of auto-
matic control systems of wind-
shield wiper and exterior lighting,
you should always clean the wind-
shield in the area of «Rain and
light sensor» and check the con-
dition of wiper blades.
Windshield wiper automatic
control
In the design variant the vehicle
is equipped with automatic control
system of the windshield wiper
(cleaning system), which allows one
to switch on and off the wiper auto-
matically. It depends on whether
there are raindrops on the wind-
shield.
ATTENTION!
It is recommended to use the
automatic control system of the
windshield wiper only in wet
weather due to the sensitivity of
the system to particles of dirt,
fog, snow, ice-melting salt, which
can cause system actuation if
windows are dry.
The cleaning system only works
when the ignition is on.
To enable the cleaning system
you should change rain sensor sen-
sitivity switch 1 (see Fig. 36), located
behind the rear-view mirror from
position
0 to any position from 1 to
4* , and the wiper lever to position III
(intermittent operation). At the same
the wiper blades make one move,
and then they will be switched on or
off depending on the number of rain-
drops on the windshield.
If the cleaning system has already
been enabled, when switching on the
ignition the wiper blades also make
one move and the cleaning system
comes into operation.
When detecting a fault the clean-
ing system will be automatically
switched to «manual» wiper control.
In order to switch the automatic
cleaning system off and to enter the
wiper «manual» mode it is necessary
to remove the rain sensor switch in
the position 0 (extreme left position).
In this mode you can the manually
put the wiper switch lever in the cor-
responded position.
At the ignition switched off the
wiper stops working, the blades can
stop not in the park position.
In order to place the blades into
the park position it is necessary to
switch the ignition on and to move
the wiper switch lever in position I.
