After the first connection of a FireWire-based peripheral, Windows detects the drive, and will install it automatically as a new
peripheral, even if you have previously installed it on another port on the same FireWire bus. Let Windows install the
FireWire drivers of your LaCie drive.

Connect the 6-pin end of the iLink/DV cable into the
FireWire 400 port on the back of the LaCie Bigger Disk
Extreme with Triple Interface.
Connect the 4-pin end of the iLink/DV cable into an
available iLink/DV port on your computer or device.
