Chapter 4
EN 41 Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning in general
Clean the appliance after every use and rub
it dry again. Make sure that all parts are
cooled down before starting.
Never use a steam cleaner. The steam can
get into contact with parts that are under
electrical tension and cause a short- circuit.
Do not use any pointy or sharp objects to
clean the silicone edges.
Never use undermentioned materials be-
cause they damage the surface: sand, soda,
alkali, acid or chloride containing cleaning
materials, grill or ovensprays, cleaning ma-
terials for dishwashers, stain or rust remo-
vers, polishing materials or sponges or bru-
shes with a polishing surface.
Remove salt containing dish rests or liquids
immediately and thoroughly from the appli-
ance, to prevent damage to the surface.
The ignition electrode of the burner may not
get wet, otherwise no spark can be genera-
ted. After the cleaning, rub the GMS9751.0E
appliance dry with a clean cloth, to prevent
chalk deposits.
4.2 Cleaning the pan supports and
knobs
Remove the pan supports after they have
cooled down and clean them with a sponge
or cloth, containing warm water and a de-
tergent. Caked food rests can best be put to
soak first. Afterwards, dry the parts with a
clean cloth.
4.3 Cleaning the burners
Make sure the burners are cooled down suf-
ficiently before removing them. Clean the
removable parts in hot water with a deter-
gent. Make sure the parts are dried properly
afterwards, also in the grooves.
Clean the non-removable parts with a spon-
ge or cloth with warm water and a deter-
gent. Make sure these parts, especially the
thermo-couple and ignition electrode, are
rubbed dry properly before re-using the ap-
pliance.
When replacing the parts, check that the fit-
ting ridges are positioned properly. See
page 29 for the right order and positions.
