Metering slide does not open

Metering slides do not move easily. Regularly check
nuts and screws for tight fit and tighten them, if
necessary.

Check tension spring.

The reducing plate on the hose connection of the fe-
male coupler is dirty.
Metering slide opens too slowly

Clean orifice plate.

Replace 0.7 mm orifice plate with a 1.0 mm plate. The
plate is at the hose connection of the female coupler.
Agitator does not operate

Check agitator drive. See 9.8: Checking agitator drive,
page 190 .
Blockage of metering outlets by:
fertiliser clumps, damp fertiliser,
miscellaneous impurities (leaves,
straw, sack residues)

Clear blockages. Proceed as follows:
1. Park tractor, remove ignition key
2. Open metering slides
3. Place catch basin underneath
4. Remove spreading discs
5. Clean the outlet from below with a wooden pole or
clean the adjustment lever and push through the meter-
ing opening,
6. Remove foreign objects in hopper
7. Install spreading discs, close metering slides
The spreading discs do not turn
or they stop suddenly after being
turned on If you are using a universal drive shaft with shear pin attach-
ment:

Check the shear bolt coupling and replace if necessary
(see the universal drive shaft manufacturer's manual).
