Faults – Causes and Remedy
Netting is not
transported at the
start.
Netting has incorrect dimensions.
The idler is not being pressed against
the V-belt or the free-running end inside
the actuating wheel jamming.
Netting roles have not been inserted
correctly into the pick-up system and /
or the roller brake mechanism is set
incorrectly.
Netting has not been inserted properly
into the wrapping mechanism.
Dirt in front of and on the starter
cylinders can cause slipping.
Use only netting rolls which have the
specified dimensions.
Set the twine limiters on the twine
mechanism further inwards. Twine slips off bale
edges.
Crop is extremely dry or crumbly.
Twine holder for
double tying is not
pulled in.
Double tying chain is too slack. Defective chain tensioner.
Twine is not injected
at the start.
Pressure rollers on the starter are too
stiff. Oil bearing or slacken bolt on the pressure
rollers slightly and retighten.
Driving too fast at the end of the baling
process.
Bale chamber is being filled on one side
only.
Twine or wrapping material ripped.
Insufficient number of wraps.
Twine / wrapping material separates.
Reduce spacing between ties on twine
wrapping system / for wrapping material,
increase number of wraps.
Use only twine or wrapping material
which meets the specified quality.
Drive slower at the end of the baling
process.
Check that the bale chamber fills evenly
during baling, drive slower especially at
the end of the baling process.
Bale is shaped like a
cone.
Possible Cause
Bale chamber is filled unevenly.
Number of wraps is too low.
Net brake too tight.
Net stretcher bar too tight.
Remedy
Drive onto the swath from altern. directions.
Increase the number of wraps.
Release the net brake.
Adjust the stretcher.
Fault
Wrapping material
used for
barrel-
shaped bales rips
open in the middle.
Channel clogged with straw
Detach the cutter blades.
Following extended use of the twine
wrapping mechanism, remove dirt which
has ac-cumulated inside the wrapping
mechanism.
Pull the netting out of the wrapping me-
chanism, reinsert in accordance with the
operating manual.
Insert the netting roll in accordance with
the operating manual, adjust the roller
brake.
Check servo-motor or put the free-running
end in gear Remove dirt.
The idler pulley of the V-belt cannot move
far enough to the bottom.
Remove crop residues between the guard
holder and the flat iron of the
idler pulley.
