NOTICE
Do not clean the outer element before the red piston is
projected into the transparent part of dust indicator (5).
If the outer element is cleaned frequently before the red
piston protrudes, the air cleaner cannot display its normal
performance and the cleaning effect decreases.

Check if the red piston is projected into the transparent
part of dust indicator (5).
If the red piston is projected, clean the air cleaner outer el-
ement.
METHOD FOR CLEANING AIR CLEANER OUTER ELEMENT
NOTICE
• Do not use a screwdriver or other tool.
• When cleaning the element, do not hit it or hit anything with the element.
• Before and after cleaning the element, do not leave or keep it under direct sunlight.
• Never remove the inner element.
If it is removed, dirt will enter and can cause an engine trouble.
1.
Release the hooks (6) and remove the cover (7).
2.
Hold the outer element (8), rock it lightly up and down and
to the right and left, and pull out the outer element (8)
while turning it to the right or left.
3.
When the outer element (8) is removed, check that the in-
ner element (9) does not come out of position and is not at
an angle.
If it is at an angle, push it straight to the bottom with your
hand.
4.
After removing the outer element (8), cover the inner ele-
ment (9) with a clean cloth or tape to prevent dirt or dust
from entering.
5.
Clean the dust sticking inside the air cleaner body (10) and on the cover (7) by using a clean cloth or brush.
6.
If any dust is attached to the vacuator valve (11) installed to the cover (7), remove it.
7.
When the outer element (8) has been cleaned 5 times or used for 1 year, replace it with a new outer ele-
ment.
If the outer element (8) does not need to be replaced, proceed the cleaning.
