Hybrid component radiator cleaning
1.
Place the machine on a level ground, then stop the engine.
2.
Check that cap (2) of radiator for hybrid component (1) is
cool enough to touch by bare hands.
3.
Turn the radiator cap (2) slowly until it hits the stopper and
release the pressure.
4.
While pushing the radiator cap (2), turn it until it hits the
stopper, then remove it.
5.
Remove the undercover (3), then place a container under
the drain plug (4) to catch the coolant mixture.
Open the drain plug (4) at the bottom of the capacitor and
drain the coolant. (Width across flats 14 mm)
6.
After draining, close drain plug (4). Add tap water until the
water level can be seen through sight gauge (G) on the
water filler pipe, and turn the starting switch key to ON po-
sition.
Tightening torque:5.88 to 8.82 Nm {0.6 to 0.9 kgm}
7.
If the water level falls, refill with tap water again up to the
level where the water level can be seen through sight
gauge (G) on the water filler pipe. Then, start the engine
and run it at low idle for approximately 10 minutes.
8.
Stop the engine, and open the drain plug (4) to drain the
coolant.
9.
After draining the coolant, clean the sub-tank with deter-
gent liquid.
For the cleaning method, follow the usage instruction for
the detergent liquid.
10. Tighten the drain plug (4).
Tightening torque:5.88 to 8.82 Nm {0.6 to 0.9 kgm}
11. Install the undercover (3).
12. Add coolant through the filler port up to the mouth of the
port.
For the coolant density, see “Coolant density table”.
13. Turn the starting switch key to ON position. If the coolant
level falls, refill with coolant again up to the level where the
coolant level can be seen through sight gauge (G) on the
water filler pipe.
14. Run the engine at low idle for approximately 10 minutes to
remove the air from the coolant.
15. If the coolant level falls, refill with coolant again up to the
level where the coolant level can be seen through sight gauge (G) on the water filler pipe.
After running the engine for approximately 10 minutes, check that the coolant level does not fall. If the cool-
ant level falls, continue to run the engine at low idle until the coolant level does not fall. (At this time, keep
the radiator cap (2) removed.)
