Take off the hoop (2) from hook (3).

6.

Hold the handle (4) and pull up the engine hood.

7.

Push the stay (5) in the direction of arrow and set it in the
intermediate LOCK position (6) securely.
The engine hood can be locked at 2 different opening an-
gles. However, lock it to the intermediate LOCK position
(6) usually for inspection and such.

8.

To open the engine hood fully, perform the following proce-
dure.
1) Hold the handle (4) and pull down the engine hood.
2) Hold the handle (7) and pull the stay (5) in the direc-

tion of arrow.
Stay (5) stops first at branch portion (8) of the guide
groove.
