Keysight U8903B Service Guide

U8903B

Bluetooth

Test Description

The U8903B

Bluetooth

card supports two

Bluetooth

audio profiles which are the Handsfree

Profile (HFP) and the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). The VEE test program is
used to test these two profiles for their functionality. The tests focus on profile connectivity
as well as audio generation and measurement functionality.

Handsfree Profile (HFP) test description

test for HFP profile (BT Role: Initator, Audio Role: AG)

– The first set of

Bluetooth

tests for the HFP profile is performed with the DUT’s

Bluetooth

profile role configured as Initiator and the audio role configured as Audio Gateway.

– The HFP profile tests shown in

Figure 5-8

are connectivity tests and consist of the

following:

– HFP_INT_AG_CVSD_Inquire, Pair & Connect

– HFP_INT_AG_mSBC(WB)_Disconnect & Connect

– HFP_INT_AG_Disconnect & Unpair

– The connectivity tests validates the functionality of the DUT's ability to perform inquiry,

pairing, unpairing, connection, and disconnection.

– The remaining HFP profile tests are the

Bluetooth

audio tests and consist of the

following:

– HFP GEN Test

– HFP ANA Test

– HFP GEN (WBs) Test

– HFP ANA (WBs) Test

– The

Bluetooth

audio tests are considered as subset tests that fall under the HFP profile.

The HFP

Bluetooth

pairing, profile connection, and audio connection have to be

successfully established before the

Bluetooth

audio tests can be performed.
