Appendix B: Connecting to Multiple E6610As
You can also issue commands to multiple E6610As from a single Keysight Interactive
IO window. In this case, it is necessary to change the instrument connections by using
the SCPI command CONTrol:INSTrument:DISConnect to disconnect from one
instrument and then initiate a new connection to the next instrument before issuing
commands to that E6610A.
Synchronizing Multiple E6610As
It is possible to synchronize the data acquisition with two E6610As in order to test a
RRH with 4 antenna ports. One E6610A will be the "master" while the second E6610A
is the "slave." As shown in the figure below, the 10 MHz reference output from the
master E6610A should be connected to the 10 MHz reference input of the slave
E6610A. The SYNC OUT signal from the master E6610A should be connected to the
SYNC IN port on the slave E6610A. An external 10 MHz reference may be connected
to the master E6610A if desired; otherwise the internal reference clock will be used.
Send the following SCPI commands to the master E6610A to enable the sync output:
TRIGger:SYNC:OUT:STATe ON
If an external 10 MHz reference is used, send this command to select the external
reference (AUTO can also be used instead of EXT):
TRIGger:REF:SOURce EXT
Send the following SCPI command to the slave E6610A to enable the sync input:
TRIGger:SYNC:IN:STATe ON
