Tools and Parts Required
To replace the hardware components, you need the tools and parts listed in Table 20 on page 60.
Replacing an AC Power Supply
The power supplies are located at the front of the chassis. Each AC power supply weighs
approximately 0.99 lb (0.45 kg). For more information about AC power supply specifications, see
Table 25 on page 77.
To replace an AC power supply, perform the following procedures:

Removing an AC Power Supply
To remove an AC power supply (see Figure 23 on page 60):
1. Remove the power cord from the AC power source.
2. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect the
strap to the ESD point on the chassis. For more information about ESD, see “Preventing
Electrostatic Discharge Damage” on page 83.
3. Unplug the power cord from the AC receptacle on the power supply.
4. Loosen the thumbscrews at the top corners of the power supply.
5. Grasp the handle on the power supply faceplate and pull the power supply straight out of the
chassis.

Installing an AC Power Supply
To install an AC power supply (see Figure 24 on page 61):
1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect the
strap to the ESD point on the chassis. For more information about ESD, see “Preventing
Electrostatic Discharge Damage” on page 83.
